Born in Paramaribo, Surinam, I moved to Europe at 8, starting a professional soccer career, playing alongside top players like Ruud van Nistelrooij and facing off against icons like Zlatan Ibrahimović.
After six years in Dutch soccer, I transitioned to real estate, successfully selling properties across Spain, the Cape Verde islands, Florida, and beyond. However, the 2008 crisis led me to shift into the local rental market.
Seeking balance, I moved to the Caribbean, but my passion was reignited when I discovered trading—a skill introduced by my best friend, now a successful trader. Trading became the next chapter of my journey.
After working with several mentors and experimenting with new trading ideas, I faced numerous challenges and setbacks. My initial attempts were marked by recklessness and ambition, leading to significant failures. The first two years of my trading career were particularly tough. I made common mistakes such as entering positions poorly and neglecting to use stop losses. My ego often led me to give the market more room than planned, causing significant drops and losses. The realization came when I saw profits vanish due to impatience and greed.
The big change came when I discovered a strategy based on technical analysis and shifted my mental approach. By focusing on a risk-reward ratio of at least 1:5, I adopted swing trading, which involves smaller stop losses and larger take profits. This shift not only reduced stress but also allowed me to avoid constant screen time.
